Quercetin is a naturally occurring flavonol found in fruits and vegetables. Quercetin is classed as an antioxidant with the capability to reduce oxidative stress which is the root cause of various degenerative diseases.  When ingested, either from food or supplements, this natural ingredient demonstrates potential in treating various cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases, and clinical studies have shown that its anti-inflammatory effects work in treating symptoms of musculoskeletal diseases including Rheumatoid arthritis. It has also been reported to increase endurance during exercise. Ultimately, quercetin may slow down the aging process and related degenerative diseases by reducing cell damage and inflammation caused by chronic oxidative stress [D'Andrea 2015; Ji 2013].
